The latest WhatsApp Beta version v2.18.335 comes with a new feature which is called the "Private Reply". With this new feature, you will be able to send messages privately to a group participant in a group chat without actually letting other group members know about it.
open a group chat, then tap and hold on the message you want to reply to. After that, click on the three dots on the top right corner for more options and tap on ‘Reply privately'. This will open a personal chat with that particular person.
The update is currently available to Android WhatsApp Beta Users who are on the version 2.18.335. There is no report yet as to when the feature will be rolled out to other users. However, you can download the latest WhatsApp beta version from the link below, but note that the current version has a bug which crashes the app whenever you attempt to delete a media from a chat.
